Usage level of Pigment

Recommended usage level of MICROTEK the weight of moulding Resin 8-12% for Gelcoats, 8-10% for Pultrusion and SMC/DMC, 4-6% for Laminates and Filled castings, 1-5% for Translucent Sheet. Greater pigmentation level will provide better brightness, colour uniformity, colour depth and durability.

Mixing Procedure

Small quantities of pigments can be mixed easily by hand stirring and for large quantities powder mixing is essential. Take small quantity of Resin and add weighed quantity of the Polyester Pigment into a mixing container and mix well until uniform colour is achieved. Thereafter add balance quantity of Resin and mix well to obtain homogeneous colour.

Usage of Catalyst

Catalyst should be added to the Pigmented Resin just before actual usage.

Storage/Selflife

MICROTEK Polyester Pigments have excellent storage/selflife. The minimum guaranteed self life is one year from the date of manufacturing.
